We chose the name “Firewood” for our business with the intention of evoking the heartwarming feeling of being with loved ones around a fire and the community building and fellowship that ensues. It was inspired by two things:
First, it’s a nod to the founder’s nickname. As a young ball of energy with the personality to match, Andréa’s volleyball coach called her a “firecracker.” The nickname stuck and ultimately became her unique “camp name” when she was a leader at Girl Scout Camp.
Second, in thinking about where else “fire” is significant in her life, Andréa remembered “firewood” and all the times she gathered around a campfire, fire pit, or fireplace. Whether it is in the woods, at a beach, or in the backyard, gathering around a fire has always been her favorite place to relax with family and friends.
As a company, Firewood Events’ goal is to bring that warm, welcoming feeling of being around a fire to all of the guests who attend our events.
